Jesus > Everything

Jesus > everything isn’t just a statement to agree with - it’s a way of life. All life is built around rhythms or callings that shape our thoughts and behaviors. These callings aren’t linear. Each one is part of a whole- take one or two out and things are incomplete. It is important to also notice we never “arrive” (until heaven) because living Jesus> everything is a lifelong process.

Read below to explore each calling and learn how to Start, Grow and Go in each.  This is what our church is about.  This is what we encourage all to walk in as we develop our relationship with Jesus.  Again, we never “arrive” because each calling can be taken deeper, nor do you abandon them to move on to the next step. Each of these rhythms build upon one another and should be constantly evolving in our lives.

Worshiper

A Worshiper abides in Christ, dependent on His love and authority.

Why develop ourselves as Worshipers? Because God is amazing and loves you! “Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.” Worship is about abiding in Jesus and aligning our lives in submission to God to bring Him glory.  A worshiper cultivates a personal relationship with God by: reading the Bible, praying, being in community, participation regularly in the church, and practicing the spiritual disciplines. All these (and more) are done in response to God’s love for us, to keep our hearts aligned with His and to bring Him glory.

He laid down His life to show the way of love, the way of God’s Kingdom, and to save us. Living Jesus > everything means gladly (or at times simply to be obedient) giving of yourself to serve others. The Holy Spirit empowers believers with Spiritual gifts to build up the body of Christ (Church) and strengthens us to show and speak the love of Jesus to those in our lives who don’t know Him.

A Connector builds Christ-centered community.

Why build community with others?  Because He calls each one of us to be part of His family.  The Christian life isn’t hard to do alone…it’s impossible. Every Christian is part of a larger body called the Church. The Church is to be an expression of Jesus to the world by the way each believer pours into, challenges, encourages, and loves one another. Living Jesus > everything means intentionally cultivating Jesus- centered relationships in the church to grow your own faith, help others grow their faith and to be the expression of God’s unifying love to the world.

A Steward manages all entrusted resources for God’s glory.

Why “Steward”? Because a steward is not an owner, but a steward is responsible for that which he has been entrusted. God wants us to recognize and rest in His authority over all we have.
