The insurance process took some time, but it takes many necessary steps in evaluating a multi-million dollar building before deeming it a total loss. The insurance process is complete, and the design of the new building’s interior and exterior layout has begun.
A large part of what is holding us back from removing the remaining destroyed building is simple - for the moment what is still standing is protecting what we need it to protect. The exterior wall and remaining roof are preventing damage to the following items that we can salvage and reuse in the next building:
- New Upstairs HVAC (heating and air conditioning units)
- Metal studs
- Second floor hallways, Children and Student rooms
Below are some photos of what the interior looks like now. Much has been cleaned up and removed. Preparations are being made for phase 2 of demolition that will be taking place soon.
Plans for the new building should be completed in the very near future. The next building will include some impressive upgrades and a completely new look for the exterior.
Prayer for wisdom to design the most functional and inviting building is requested. It is an honor to see something go from paper to reality that will one day hold people who will hear about Jesus for the first time, be baptized, and grow in their relationship with Jesus.
